CVMA Statement on the Mid-Term Evaluation of the Passenger Automobile and Light Truck GHG Regulations

Statement by Brian Kingston, President & CEO of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers’ Association:

“We welcome the findings of the mid-term evaluation and are committed to working with government to help Canada meet its emission reduction objectives. Emissions standards aligned across North America deliver significant environmental and economic benefits to Canada while minimizing costs to industry and consumers. We applaud the government’s recognition of this and ongoing collaboration with the U.S. on federal emissions standards.

CVMA members are committed to fighting climate change with billions of dollars being invested into emissions reduction technologies. We look forward to engaging with the government as they work with the U.S. administration on new harmonized vehicle GHG standards.”
