CVMA Congratulates Government on CETA Implementation
The Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers’ Association (CVMA) congratulates the Government of Canada on the September 21st provisional implementation of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).
“The CETA represents an excellent opportunity for our member companies to increase exports to the European market,” stated Mark Nantais, CVMA President. “Trade agreement outcomes that are supportive of Canada’s automotive manufacturing sector and its integrated supply chain benefit Canada’s overall economy. We commend the Canadian government on achieving strong automotive provisions under the CETA.”
Motor vehicles are Canada’s number one export and over 90% of the vehicles produced in Canada by CVMA member companies are exported annually.
