CVMA statement on changes to British Columbia’s Zero-Emission Vehicles Act
Statement by Brian Kingston, President & CEO of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers’ Association:
“We are disappointed that British Columbia is maintaining a standalone provincial zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) mandate despite its commitment to align with the federal government. While a less severe target is recognized, mandates limit consumer choice, drive up vehicle prices, and put jobs and investment at risk.
“Government efforts should be focused on encouraging the transition to ZEVs by ensuring that there is adequate charging infrastructure in the province, not mandating what vehicles British Columbians drive.”
