CVMA calls for immediate resolution to Port of Vancouver labour dispute
Statement by Brian Kingston, President & CEO of the Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers’ Association:
“A potential work stoppage at the Port of Vancouver will have significant negative consequences for integrated automotive supply chains in Canada and across North America. This threatens North American automotive production, the hundreds of thousands of people employed in the sector, and the broader Canadian economy”.
“Increasingly frequent transportation disruptions are undermining Canada’s reputation as a reliable jurisdiction for the production and movement of goods and damaging our competitiveness for new investment. We urge the federal government to work with the parties and reach a rapid resolution”.
