Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited

Ford has made more than $11 billion in capital investments since 1990.

The very first Model "C" Ford rolled off the line in 1904, making the Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited the country's longest-established automobile manufacturer.

From a total of 17 employees in 1904, Ford's payroll has since grown to include 14,000 men and women all across Canada.

During the last 15 years, Ford has invested more than $10 billion in its Canadian vehicle assembly and engine manufacturing plants. In 2003, this included investment of $770 million to expand the engine and cylinder head operations in Windsor, Ontario – which is the most ambitious engine plant expansion in Ford’s recent history, representing almost one million square feet of new facilities.

Ford Credit Canada Limited
An operating unit of the Ford Motor Credit Company (FMCC). FMCC is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company with operations across Canada.

Research and Development Presence
The Oakville Assembly Complex includes a revolutionary "Fumes to Fuel" research project that studies the conversion of waste fumes from the paint facility into useful energy through a stationary fuel cell, a turbine and an navistarnal combustion engine.
In April, 2005, Ford delivered 5 Focus Fuel Cell Vehicles to Vancouver for use in the first ever demonstration project of fuel cell vehicles in Canada.
10 Hydrogen ICE demonstration buses operating in major Canadian cities.
Ford Centre for Excellence in Manufacturing at St. Clair College in Windsor.
The Ford Academy of Manufacturing Sciences.
Participation in the Auto21 research projects.
A $600 million investment in Ballard Power Systems, Canada's Premier Fuel Cell Research Facility.
Powertrain Engineering and Research Development Centre in Windsor.
Ford is actively developing five key alternative vehicle technologies; E85 ethanol flexible fuel vehicles, hybrid-electric vehicles, clean diesels, hydrogen navistarnal combustion engines and hydrogen fuel cells.
