Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited
Ford has made more than $11 billion in capital investments since 1990.
The very first Model "C" Ford rolled off the line in 1904, making the Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited the country's longest-established automobile manufacturer.
Today, Ford's Canadian operations supports more than 7,200 employees and 14,000 retirees, and consist of two vehicle assembly plants, two engine plants and two research and development facilities. In addition, Ford Credit Canada is a wholly-owned automotive financing operation which is a vital source of credit for our Canadian dealers and over 550,000 Canadian consumers. Ford also has more then 440 independent dealers, who support another 19,000 employees in communities across Canada.
Over the last 20 years, Ford has invested more than $11 billion in its Canadian vehicle assembly and engine manufacturing plants. In 2007, this included investment of $1.2 billion to convert the Oakville Assembly Complex into a flexible manufacturing facility. Additionally, in 2003 Ford invested $770 million to expand the engine and cylinder head operations in Windsor, Ontario – which is the most ambitious engine plant expansion in Ford’s recent history, representing almost one million square feet of new facilities.
Ford of Canada’s operations include a national headquarters, three regional offices, two branch offices, four vehicle assembly and engine manufacturing plants, and two parts distribution centres. For more information, please visit www.ford.ca.
